Oualie Beach is hopping during the day, but at night it is a bit more subdued. Don't get me wrong, it is not a morgue, just a bit slower paced. Tuesday nights are fun
as their is a barbecue on the beach with a instrumental band. The lobster and steaks on the grill while watching the sunset is fantastic. On the weekends you might find a five piece string band or a two man
pan (steel drum) band. If you are really lucky, occasionally you will see the Masquerade Dance Troop come dancing in. Funny thing about Oualie, on most night there is nobody there after 10:00 PM, and then
all of the sudden there can be 15 or 20 people can stop in. The dress is casual, the food is very good, the staff are FANTASTIC, and the drinks reasonable. Oualie is easy to find,
located on the main road overlooking St. Kitts on Oualie Bay. Oh and by the way, the bartender Tim AKA (Postman Tim) was just written up in one of the travel magazines this past February. It is the only bar
I know where you can drop off your mail and buy a beer. What a concept! Try that in the US and you will never see Nevis. Stop by Oualie in the late afternoon to ask what is going on that night.
Be sure to go to Oualie at least one night for a cocktail to see the BEST sunsets on Nevis. |
