While you can find excellent baked / fried chicken in many places on Nevis, Sandy's chicken, in my opinion is the best. I can't be to far off the mark either, he always has the longest line of any vendor at special events in Nevis. From what I gather he ONLY cooks his chicken for special events too. What makes Sandy's chicken so good is the prepartion. First off he grills it to give it a nice grilled flavor, then he batters it and deep fries it. What a great idea! Now if I only knew what herb and spice mixtures he uses, I might be able to come close to duplicating it. If you are on holiday in Nevis and you see that the horse racing is on, (check the "Nevis Events Calendar"), be sure to hunt this guy down. Just look for the longest line, and it will most likely be Sandy. You may have to wait in line for a bit, but it will be well worth the wait. Be sure to get some extra to take to the beach. |
