It was a Sunday afternoon, and we all decided to go across the narrows for a picnic. So everybody at Oualie Beach ...who were not stuck working...decided to gather up eats, drinks, radios, kids, dogs, etc., and jump on board several boats for the short two mile trip across the narrows to Saint Kitts. Many of the people on Nevis have relatives in Kitts so they called over there and had them drive down to meet us. We had playpens with umbrellas for the little ones, and plenty of beer for the big kids. Captain Julian of Nevis Water Sports, along with Captain Ian (Kobe) caught plenty of fish on the way there, so we were not going to starve. DJ Jez's ex-wife (can't remember her name now) did all the cooking of the fish over a driftwood fire. The fish was superb, so was the beer, and the water. After 20 trips to Nevis, this was one of the best times I ever had. |
