Owners, Richard & Maureen Lupinacci have created a beautiful historic Nevis retreat, full of Old World charm, with the restoration of a 250 year old plantation property now recognized as The Hermitage Plantation Inn. This casually elegant 15-room inn is situated on a hillside, nestled in lush tropical foliage. Elegantly furnished one and two-story cottages dotted about the property, serve as guest quarters as well as a manor house which is especially favored by families. The rooms feature four poster canopy beds, oriental rugs and hard woods, full length mirrors, bath with hair dryers, private porches or verandahs, overhead fans and some with full, yet small kitchens, or kitchenettes. Nevis is fortunate to have cool trade winds provide natural air-conditioning. |

A freshwater pool, tennis court, riding stables and carriage rides are the extent of the activities provided at The Hermitage. Rental cars are available for touring the island and trips to the beach. A library, bar, and sitting room are other options for the less active as well as strategically positioned hammocks where you'll be rocked to sleep by the trade winds. The cuisine is superb here and can be enjoyed in the Great House dining room or out on its terrace overlooking the gardens. |

One of my favorites features about The Hermitage Plantation Inn is the library. I have been known to spend hours just browsing through the
books. Sitting by the pool with a good book and a cooling breeze is a fantastic way to forget about your cares. I highly recommend a visit here for a meal even if your not staying here. Once
again.........my only negative point.........yep, you guessed it! Where's the BEACH! |
