The Cover Point Bar, also known as "Ruthie's", is another one of those places on Nevis, that I always say "If you have been here, you have been on Nevis too long!" Seriously though it is a lot of fun, especially if you like to play pool, and I do. Yes you could play pool at the 4 seasons, but then you would have to put up with $8.00 beers, and disco/top40/bubblegum/Jimmy Buffet/pseudo-Caribbean music.....so in other words.....Go to the Cover Point! Ruthie's is a small place, seating maybe ten people in the bar, and another 10 to 15 people outside around the pool table. Yes you read that correctly the pool table is outside, well sort of, it is covered by a roof. The dress is of course casual, the prices low, the beer cold, and the music is kickin'. Ruthie's is easy to locate, it is on the main road as you leave town across from the Superfood grocery store. Just listen for the music, not many places open in town at this time of night. Ruthie is open almost every night from about 9:00 PM till 4:00 AM. You owe it to yourself to stop by and visit Ruthie, oh and guys, she is already spoken for :( |
